Pipeline and activity truth, inside Salesforce.

THE SITUATION

Every pipeline review starts with a spreadsheet somebody rebuilt over the weekend — and by the time the meeting starts, it already disagrees with Salesforce. Coverage against quota, stage mix, and rep activity each live in their own tab, teams in two countries report in two currencies, and no two leaders calculate "coverage" quite the same way. The conversation that should be about deals turns into a debate about whose numbers are right.

The frustrating part is that the CRM already holds every number the meeting needs. Salesforce's built-in reports get partway there, but they can't handle the team roll-ups, currency views, and coverage math leaders actually run their reviews on — and the BI platforms that can mean new licenses, a data project, and months before the first trustworthy dashboard.

WHAT WE BUILT

Two live dashboards now sit inside Salesforce itself — one for pipeline coverage by rep, team, quarter, and deal stage, and one for rep activity from first call through closed-won — both pulling the same numbers, calculated the same way, straight from the CRM. Currency and targets are settings the team controls, the definition of every metric sits right next to it, and any view exports exactly as it appears on screen, ready for the operating review. There is no separate reporting tool to log into: the numbers live where the deals live.

WHAT CHANGED

Leaders open Salesforce and see coverage the moment the question comes up, then drill from company to team to rep without reconciling a workbook first. Reps with nothing to show still show up on the board, so gaps are visible instead of hidden. The debate about whose numbers are right is over — the meeting is about deals again.
